When you can’t even see a part, you might forget about it, but it doesn’t mean its not important. Flat tires are probably the most common bicycle failures. Many times, flats are caused by the rims, specifically the lack of protection from the rims' sharp edges. Good rim strips didn’t exist for BMX rims. The Wolf Tooth Rear Axle uses a captive steel washer under the head to reduce friction on the dropout face. We designed Teravail tubeless tape for no-hassle installation. Its slight stretch allows the tape to easily conform to your rims. The translucent material shows you exactly where the tape makes contact. Designed for use with slotted horizontal or vertical single-position dropouts, the Excellent Adventure Axle is compatible only with 12 x 148mm hubs. Compatible Surly models include Skid Loader, our compact electric cargo bike, as well as Karate Monkey, Krampus, Grappler, Ogre, Lowside, ECR, and Troll. Small component with a large impact. A poorly constructed or unsuitable tyre rim tape can be the cause of many punctures. It is especially important with hollow section rims to use a pressure-resistant rim band which covers the entire rim. The fabric-reinforced Continental Easy Tape rim protector is designed for use under high air pressure conditions. The various widths enable a perfect fit for all standard rims. The high pressure design for racing cyclists withstands up to 220 psi, without becoming deformed. The flat construction type also significantly eases the job of tyre fitting.
